Where have you previously worked in cannabis?
I’ve held various leadership roles in the cannabis industry, including General Manager at Oasis Cannabis Dispensary, Assistant General Manager at Green Thumb Industries, and Cultivation Supervisor at YMY Venture LLC. I’ve also played a key role in the growth of Acres Cannabis Dispensary and design/development of The Underground Marijuana Farmers Market.
What did you like most about working with cannabis?
What I enjoyed most was being part of an emerging industry. I enjoyed the challenge of navigating uncharted territory, setting standards, and contributing to the growth and legitimacy of cannabis. As someone with a strong business drive, working in such a new and dynamic field allowed me to apply my MBA studies in real-time, building strategies and innovations that laid the foundation for future success.
What have you learned moving from plant-touching work to tech?
Transitioning from plant-touching roles to tech has taught me the importance of adaptability and innovation. In tech, I’ve learned to leverage data and digital tools to create scalable solutions that drive customer success, while still maintaining the personal touch that was crucial in my cannabis roles.
What’s your advice for those starting out in cannabis?
Stay curious and embrace the learning curve. The cannabis industry is evolving rapidly, so being adaptable and willing to learn will set you apart. Build strong relationships, be patient, and always prioritize compliance and customer satisfaction.
