‍NCAA Rethinking Cannabis

NCAA leaders are considering a measure that would remove cannabis as a banned substance for student-athletes and treating cannabis much more like it does alcohol.Β

New York to rethink cannabis potency tax

In her 2025 budget, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul aims to repeal the state’s potency tax. In the proposal, the state would replace the potency tax with a 9% wholesale excise tax.


Illinois cannabis sales

Illinois sold a record $182 million worth of cannabis in the month of December, according to figures from the state’s Department of Revenue.Β 


Wisconsin’s medical cannabis plans

Cannabis is on the minds of legislators and the Governor in Wisconsin and they are aiming to replicate Minnesota’s medical cannabis regulatory framework.Β

Rescheduling cannabis details

Late last week, the documents that serve as the basis for the Department of Health and Human Services recommendation to the DEA about rescheduling cannabis were released publicly.Β
