Market Type

In New Hampshire, cannabis is regulated by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and is called the Therapeutic Cannabis Program. Medical cannabis is allowed; adult-use cannabis is prohibited. New Hampshire also allows visiting out-of-state medical patients to purchase medical cannabis as long as they show their out-of-state medical card and matching photo identification. Medical dispensaries are called Alternative Treatment Centers (ATC) in New Hampshire.

Purchase Limits

Medical

  • 2.5 oz of usable cannabis every 15 days

Usable cannabis contained in concentrate is based on cannabinoid profile of concentrate (not amount of the concentrate itself or the amount of cannabis used to create cannabis)

  • 250mg of total active cannabinoid = 1 gram of usable cannabis

The total active cannabinoid amount shall be the combined amounts of cannabinoids in the concentrate as indicated in the cannabinoid profile

Delivery is not permitted in New Hampshire

Things to Note

  • An ATC cannot possess cannabis in excess of 6 ounces of usable cannabis for each qualifying patient who is registered with the ATC snd an additional 80 ounces of usable cannabis to allow for sufficient quantity for new patients
  • No sampling is allowed
  • Advertising: New Hampshire has very restrictive advertising rules. Advertising of products and services are generally prohibited.
